Flat hair?

I want to address a major problem that alot of women say to me bothers them, and that is the issue of flat straight hair with no body and volume...

The key to volume and body is TEXTURE  the hair has to have some hold and grip, this comes from adding texture to the hair by way of mousse when hair is wet or DRY yes you can add it when it is dry!! Plus a texturising spray like a salt spray...

If you are someone who has normally very soft slippery hair that is straight and tend to hang quite flat then this post if perfect for you, and if you are just a girl with fairly good body in your hair already then this will help if you just want to inject a bit of extra va-va-woom into your hair...

Once hair has texture and hold to it then you can go anywhere with your hair, you can curl and they WILL hold all night, you can backcomb and it WILL NOT slip out after five minutes!

Thicker drier hair types will have no problem with any of this because they already have a texture to the hair that is easier to work with...

When your hair is just washed and damp you must add mousse, mousse is amazing...there are other sprays on the market that say they add volume and create thicker hair and some probably do a fair job but if you just go with good old mousse then you cant go wrong then. Any mousse will do the job it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, the mousse which I use (because I have this type of soft flat hair) is by:

Shockwaves Heat Defense Volumising mousse at £3.35

A can of this will last me at least 3-4 months which is not too bad.

This is to then be dried into the hair, you need to apply liberally for it to be able to do its job....

Once you have done this and dried it into the hair fully, I reccomend sleeping on your hair, even putting it in a high twisted bun to give it extra body and shape set into the hair overnight...

Then if your hair still needs more volume then you can add salt spray into the hair as you wish, apply salt spray all over hair and dry in with a hair drier...this is REALLY GOOD  for adding texture to the hair as the salt drys the hair making it less slippery and easier to mould....

The best salt spray I have ever tried is by Charles Worthington and it smells divine too!

At £6.29 it is not dirt cheap but it really works and lasts such a long time because you do not need to use much...

Charles Worthington Front Row Rough and Tousled Salt Spray

If you then want to curl your hair I can promise it will last alot longer than it has before! of course with a good helping of hairspray...

All these things hairspray/mousse and salt spray with give your hair TEXTURE which it needs in order to be able to hold onto body and volume, as well as more styles, like curls/backcombing etc...

ENJOY CREATING!!
