Eyelashes Eyelashes

For most of us we wish we had longer thicker curlier lashes, I know I do!

Well I think eyelash treatments are set to be the next big thing so watch this space...Lash enhancing/lash growing/lash conditioning products have been slowly creeping onto the market and the latest one I have seen is
'Peptalash' £19.99 from Boots
It is from the makers of Nanoblur which was the primer that came out at the beginning of the year and sold like hot cakes!

Peptalash is applied to the lashes day and night, so in the morning and in the evening before bed.
The formula contains a peptide which is designed to naturally boost the pigmentation process of the skin on the lash line which stimulates the melanin production in the skin causing lashes to grown thicker darker and stronger.

Other Products like this on the market include The rapid lash serum which has been very popular and proven to work very effectively, the only thing being that when i read numerous reviews on the product they said that the product worked well for a while then the lashes started to become very brittle and would break or fall out, so if you are thinking about getting the product I would advise reading some reviews before hand and making your own mind up.

Rapid Lash costs £41 and is also available from Boots ( you can read over 100 reviews on boots.com)

What they say:
"Clinically proven up to 50% longer looking natural lashes*. RapidLash enhancing serum conditions your lashes to look stronger, fuller, and longer in as few as 8 weeks."

BROW down to Chanel....

Chanel make-up: first look
Anyone with their eye on LFW will have seen these amazing eyebrows by Peter Phillip, Chanel’s Creative Director of Make-up.... who said :
"Minerals, shading and eyebrows were the key words and the sketch showed a face with stone-lined eyebrows."

He added:
"I worked with the Maison Lesage to create sets of embroidered eyebrows," says Phillip, of his bejewelled creations. "Each eyebrow consists of an anthracite gray sequins and pearl base, embroidered with several sorts and shades of mineral stones and crystals."

Looks like jewelerry and body adornment is not just for the body anymore but equally for the face...the description of the face being a blank canvas has never been more true!

The Three Step RULE

Right ladies...it's time some of you reviewed your skincare regime don' you?

And I am here to help you, if you don't know what cleansing, toning and moisturizing means or why you should be doing it then you need to read on!

Your skincare basics should always be to cleanse, tone and moisturize twice daily. It is important to follow this routine not just in the evening to remove your makeup but to do it in the morning in order to remove any build up of dirt and oil on the face over night.

Step One-Cleanse is a way to remove any dirt and oil from the skins surface whilst softening skin cells ready to be exfoliated.
Step two- Exfoliate or Tone, this helps to remove any last traces of cleanser whilst removing any dead skin dells which were loosened in step one. By removing dead skin cells by toning or exfoliating you reveal brighter clearer looking skin with a more even tone to it.
Step Three- Moisturise- this puts back any moisture lost from the skin by exfoliating and cleansing, it helps to rebalance the skin making it strong and healthy.

It is worth noting that if you wear foundation and or concealor on a daily basis then you should actually be using a makeup remover before cleansing.
I know this sounds like an extra step but the way to think about it is like this, you wouldn't get into a shower with all your clothes on in order to clean yourself would you, so you can't cleanse your skin if you don't remove any makeup from it first.
In order to remove any makeup from the skin before cleansing you should use something to emulsify it using a cleansing milk.
- Clinique do a great variety of makeup removers, my preferred one is 'Take the day off cleansing milk' £17.50

Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk
Many brands and shops do ranges of the step system by type of skin, the body shop do a great range of products for all skin types from sensitive and dry to more mature skins or blemish prone skin. Clinique also do all three steps in various ranges for redness prone skin to blemished skin.

This is the body shop Vitamin E range which is for normal skins.

shown is the three step routine, cleanse, tone and moisturise for day and for night.

For those of you who already do all of this and know the benefits of a good skincare regime then you can get a bit more creative and specific with your skin, for example if one of your concerns with your skin is dullness then you could add in a serum for dullness. Serums are great as they contain concentrated ingredients which are powerful at changing your skin. Clinique do a great brightening serum called  Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renewer  this is to help with brightening skin.
NEW Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renewer
This retails at £32.00.

Serums can be more expensive but you don't use alot of them and like I said they contain a concentrated amount of powerful specific ingredients therefore they are more expensive.

But when do you put this on? You put any serum on UNDER your moisturizer after cleansing and toning, this is in order to allow the freshly cleansed skin where the pores are open, to suck the product straight down deep into the skin.

These serums REALLY work so what ever your concern there is a serum out there to combat it, whether it is uneven skin from acne scarring or sun damage to lines and wrinkles there are some great serums out there.

If any of you have birthdays coming up for your mum or auntie or any older person they might benefit from a de-ageing serum to combat lines and wrinkles. There are many out there on the market, the only one which I have seen to work and have massive benefits is the  Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector  by Clinique which combats lines and wrinkles which have been caused from the skins biggest ager which is the SUN.
Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector
Price for 50ml: £52.00
30ml: £38.00

I can honestly say this is fabulous, I bought this along with Cliniques youth surge night cream for my mum two months ago and she has been using it religiously day and night with massive effects to her skin. Her skin is much much smoother and clearer from using it so I can honestly say this one works.

However there are many other good ones out there like it, Estee Lauders' advanced night repair serum has been one of the number one best selling beauty products for YEARS!

Hope you have learnt something and can use it to fit into your daily skincare routine as you may not think you need it now but you will thank yourself in years to come when you have beautiful skin from taking such good care of it when you were younger!

Eyelash extensions....amazing!

Every woman wants long thick beautiful eyelashes but lets be honest not many of us have em!
That's where eyelash extensions come in, I first heard about these a few years ago but they are really coming into their own now, lots of celebrities have them and eyelash bars have been springing up everywhere...
It seems woman love to adorn themselves with all sorts nowadays from Vajazzling to Toothgems and of course lash extensions!
Eyelash extensions when done well can look stunning...a la Victoria Beckham here:

On others they look just as good:

There are a few rules to remember with them and that is to avoid extreme heat going onto the lashes, no oil to be used on them (these both loosen the adhesive glue)...plus no use of cotton wool or pads as the cotton fibers attract a certain other fiber that is not good for the lashes...

But you can still wear your normal liner and mascara as long as you take it off correctly, of course your therapist would tell you about all these precautions...

I am thinking about experimenting with them so keep checking the blog to see what mine come out like!

One last thing...price...they can be expensive to have so they are more of an occasion thing like when you are going on holiday or getting married etc...however if you can find someone who practices from home in your local area they will be slightly cheaper than going to a salon or to a lash bar in a department store!
Also they last around 4-6 weeks...the main company that started the idea and have the most stores worldwide are Noveau lashes...follow this link for more information http://www.nouveaubeautygroup.com/nouveau-lashes/

Jealous? Go and get your own and be the talk of your office when you come into work with Giraffe like lashes!
